In January, eight students alongside Ron DiRito, Janet DiRito, and Joseph Saunders journeyed to an island called Mallorca. I planned to create a professional video showing what this trip offers to students. But I chose to live in the moment. Capturing not just the landscapes, but the moments we shared within them. This wasn’t just about exploring a new world or testing my ability to adapt as a creator. This wasn’t just about exploring a new world or testing my ability to adapt as a creator. Both good and bad, that forged lasting memories. So here, I present to you the experience of Mallorca. A glimpse into the beauty of living in the moment. Mallorca isn’t just a trip, it's an adventure we live.

For my final project in “History of Film”, I am choosing to direct my own short film encapsulating all of the genres we have studied in this class. So in this short B&W silent film I am drawing from inspiration from various art movements throughout history. From the visual humor of Charlie Chaplin, exaggerated acting of German Expressionism, unique symbolism from the French New Wave, and finally paying homage to early Soviet Montage Editing. Since I am taking inspiration from these historical influences, I made this film. With all of these movements in mind, I’ve made this film from an original idea influenced by the historical significance held within the art of filmmaking.

A short film inspired by the internet horror series The Backrooms, I take an old camcorder in attempt to create a short unsettling film. What a better place to make this then the Liberty Tree Mall.
